2012 ACE Eddie Awards - nominations

The American Cinema Editors (ACE) have announced the nominations for their 62nd Annual ACE Eddie Awards.

The nominees were mostly as expected. For Best Edited Feature (Drama) the nominees were The Descendants (Kevin Tent), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Angus Wall, Kirk Baxter), Hugo (Thelma Schoonmaker), Moneyball (Christopher Tellefsen) and War Horse (Michael Kahn).

For Best Edited Comedy, the nominees were The Artist (Anne-Sophie Bion & Michel Hazanavicius), Bridesmaids (William Kerr, Michael L. Sale) Midnight in Paris (Alisa Lepselter), My Week with Marilyn (Adam Recht) and Young Adult (Dana E. Glauberman). The appearance of Young Adult was a small surprise as it hasn't played a strong part in awards talk thus far.

Michael Kahn was nominated a second time with his work on Steven Spielberg's other film, the animated feature The Adventures of Tintin. The other animation nominees were Eric Dapkewicz for Puss in Boots and Craig Wood for Rango.

In the documentary category, nominations went to Joe Bini and Maya Hawke for Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Lewis Erskine and Aljernon f Tunsil for Freedom Riders, and David Tedeschi for another Martin Scorsese film George Harrison: Living in the Material World.

In television, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Breaking Bad were the only two shows to receive two nominations. Steven Rasch picked up one of the nods for Curb Your Enthusiasm and nabbed a second one for Modern Family.

The 62nd Annual ACE Eddie Awards ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday, February 18.
