Ivor Novello Awards – nominations

The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and the Performing Right Society (PRS) for Music unveiled the nominees for the 57th Annual Ivor Novello Awards for excellence in British and Irish songwriting.

Continuing with her winning ways, Adele leads the field yet again with four nominations. Her mentions were for Best Song Musically and Lyrically, the Album Award for 21, and Most Performed Work for both Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You. Competing with Adele for the Album Award are Kate Bush with 50 Words For Snow and PJ Harvey with Let England Shake. This is the first time ever that all three Album Award nominees are women.

Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead picked up a nod for Best Original Film Score with his music on We Need To Talk About Kevin. He competes against Harry Gregson-Williams and Matthew Herbert for Life In A Day and Alex Heffes for The First Grader.

Nominations for the 57th Ivor Novello Awards are for the year 2011.
