2012 International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) Awards - nominations


The International Film Music Critics Association has announced the nominations for their Eighth Annual IFMCA Awards.

The renowned composer John Williams who just turned 80 yesterday leads the field with seven nominations for his music on two Steven Spielberg films, The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn and War Horse. Both films received nominations for Film Score of the Year and Film Music Composition of the Year.

Next with 5 nominations was The Artist composer Ludovic Bource. The film received three nominations including Film Score of the Year while Bource picked up two individual mentions. He was nominated for Breakout Composer of the Year where he is up against Brian Byrne, The Chemical Brothers, Michael Richard Plowman and Lucas Vidal.

Competing against Williams and Bource for Film Score of the Year are Mark McKenzie's score for The Greatest Miracle and Howard Shore's for Hugo. Their competition for Film Composer of the Year consists of Alexandre Desplat, Michael Giacchino and Albert Iglesias.

The International Film Music Critics Association (IFMCA) is an association of online, print and radio journalists who specialize in writing about original film and television music.

The International Film Music Critics will announce the winners of its Eighth Annual Awards on February 23, 2012.
