2012 Genesis Awards - nominees


The Humane Society of the United States has announced the nominations for its 26th annual Genesis Awards. The Genesis Awards are given in recognition of the major news and entertainment media for producing outstanding works that raise public awareness about animal issues.

The Feature Film nominees were Charles Martin Smith's Dolphin Tale, Carlos Saldanha's Rio, Rupert Wyatt's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, and Steven Spielberg's War Horse.

For Documentary, the nominations went to David Lickley's Born to be Wild 3D, Buck by Cindy Meehl, and One Lucky Elephant by Lisa Leeman.

Telvision nominees included The Cleveland Show, The Colbert Report, and Melissa & Joey for comedy; and The Glades and Hawaii Five-0 for drama.

The 26th Genesis Awards will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba will be the host.
