Jameson Empire Awards 2012 - nominations

Empire magazine announced the nominations for their 17th Jameson Empire Awards today.

Leading with five nominations each were Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive and David Yates' Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows — Part 2. Each was nominated for Best Film and Best Director.

Rounding out the field for Best Film were Tomas Alfredson's Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, Rupert Wyatt's Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo . Each of the three films picked up four nominations each. But while Alfredson and Wyatt were also nominated for Best Director, Fincher was passed over in favour of Steven Spielberg with War Horse.

Contending for Best British Film are Joe Cornish's Attack The Block, Ben Palmer’s The Inbetweeners Movie, Richard Ayoade’s Submarine, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaur.
