Call for submissions: Festival du Film de Stop Motion de Montréal


The Festival du Film de Stop Motion de Montréal (Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival) has put out a call for submissions for their 3rd annual festival.

To be eligible, films must employ the stop-motion (puppet) animation technique for at least 75% of its duration. In addition to a DVD screener and a completed application form, they require a director bio, photo and filmography as well as 2 stills from the project itself. Selected films become eligible for prizes.

The deadline for entries is September 26. The third Festival du Film de Stop Motion de Montréal will take place on the weekend of October 21-23.

Call for entries!

The Montreal Stop Motion Film Festival is proud to announce the official opening of its call for entries for the Festival’s third edition that will take place on October 21, 22 and 23, 2011

The second edition of the festival showcased more than 66 films from around the world, all created using Stop Motion Animation.

Please refer to the entries section on our website for answers to any questions you might have concerning eligibility, dates, accepted formats, and new rules. To enter your film in the festival, download a submission form, fill it out, and send it, along with your film.


Deadline for film submissions is: September 26, 2011.

Don’t forget to include:
  • Director’s biography and filmography
  • 1 screening DVD and 1 data DVD
  • 2 images from the film
  • 1 photo of the director of the film.
