Toronto International Film Festival ticket packages now on sale


The Toronto International Film Festival has begun the roll-out for selling its ticket packages for festival screenings. Starting today, packages go on sale for TIFF Members and with Visa only. Starting on July 4, they become available to any Visa cardholder at 10 a.m. ET. Visa is one of the major official sponsors of the festival and is the only credit card they accept. The following week on July 11, all tickets packages are available for purchase by anyone.

Single tickets will go on sale beginning on September 3 (August 25-29 for Members according to giving level).

TorontoThe Toronto International Film Festival® returns for its 36th year with a new Festival Box Office location opening August 23 at Metro Hall (225 King St. West), increased daytime public screenings, a special offer and new ticket packages designed to enhance the Festival experience for Festival pros, first-timers and everyone in between. The 36th Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 8 to18, 2011. 

"We are constantly looking at customer feedback in order to enrich the Festival experience. In 2011 we are implementing changes that are the direct result of Festival-goers' suggestions, including new ticket packages and increased daytime screenings," said Cameron Bailey, Co-Director, Toronto International Film Festival. "TIFF Bell Lightbox will be the heart of the action for 11 days as the building will serve as the hub of activity throughout the Festival."

TIFF’s year-round home, TIFF Bell Lightbox, will host public screenings as well as press and industry screenings. For the 17th year, the Festival is pleased to partner with Roy Thomson Hall as it hosts Opening Night, Closing Night and Gala Presentations. The Visa Screening Room, located at the Elgin Theatre, once again hosts screenings and red carpets. New this year, the Princess of Wales Theatre hosts screenings and red carpets from September 9 to12. Returning cinemas include: AMC 24 at Yonge & Dundas, the Isabel Bader Theatre at Victoria College on the grounds of the University of Toronto, the Winter Garden Theatre, Jackman Hall at the Art Gallery of Ontario and Ryerson Theatre at Ryerson University. Scotiabank Theatre Toronto returns for public, press and industry screenings.

Ticket packages are on sale for TIFF Members beginning June 20, for Visa cardholders on July 4, and for Visa, cash and debit payments on July 11. Ticket packages can be purchased online 24 hours a day at tiff.net/festival, by phone Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET at 416-599-TIFF or 1-888-599-8433, and in person at the TIFF Bell Lightbox Box Office at 350 King St. West from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET.

Selected by TIFF programmers, this new package allows film lovers to experience films from a variety of Festival programmes.

Enjoy 20 regular screenings beginning before 5:01 p.m.

Back Half Pack
Festival-goers can save 50 percent off the regular ticket price when they purchase this new 5-ticket pack, valid September 13 through to the end of the Festival.

SPECIAL OFFER

Receive a 2-for-1 TIFF Bell Lightbox voucher per order when you purchase Festival tickets. Voucher is valid for any TIFF Bell Lightbox screening throughout October.

Film lovers 25 and under get a discount on regular and premium screenings.

IMPORTANT DATES

June 20:

July 4:

:

August 23:
Festival Box Office at 225 King St. West opens. The Programme Book, Official Film Schedule and Advance Order Book, for selecting films within My Choice Packs, are available only at the Festival Box Office. The Film Schedule is available online at tiff.net/festival.

Aug 25 to 29:
Single tickets on sale to TIFF Members (based on giving levels).

August 29:
Completed Advance Order Books for My Choice Packs are due by 7 p.m. ET at the Festival Box Office for entry into the Advance Order Draw.

Beginning September 2:
Ticket package pick up and exchange begins.

Beginning September 3:
Single tickets à la carte are available for purchase beginning at 7 a.m. ET from the Festival Box Office, by phone at 416-599-TIFF or
