Call for submissions: Canadian Film Fest 2013


The Canadian Film Fest has put out a call for submissions for their 2013 festival.

They are a Toronto-based festival uniquely devoted to the celebration, promotion and advancement of Canadian filmmaking talent. By exclusively featuring Canadian films, its goal is to provide filmmakers with valuable showcasing and networking opportunities and to offer the public homegrown productions to view and enjoy.

Submitted films must be Canadian productions. Preference will be given to Canadian or Toronto premieres and films completed within the last two years. They accept films of any genre, both short or feature length.

The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2012.

WHAT WE’RE ABOUT
The Canadian Film Fest is a Canadian film festival dedicated solely to the advancement of Canadian film. Only Canadian productions are eligible (see below for submission eligibility). The aim of the Canadian Film Fest is to provide filmmakers with showcasing and networking opportunities and to provide the general public with homegrown productions to view and enjoy. Held annually in downtown Toronto theatre locations the Festival showcases short films and feature films and also includes opening and closing galas, parties, meet-and-greet sessions and other networking opportunities.

SELECTION
A selection committee is appointed by the Festival to view all submissions, for both pre-selection and final selection. Decisions of the programmers and selection committee are final.

NOTIFICATION/SHIPPING
Participants will be notified via email of the selection results approximately four weeks before the Festival. Shipping instructions for films selected for the Festival will be included. The Festival will pay for one-way shipping of all prints/tapes by forwarding them to their next destination within 2 weeks of the conclusion of the Festival.

Exhibition prints/tapes must arrive at the Festival by March 1, 2013.
The Festival does not accept responsibility for technical damage to films, loss or theft for the period of time that the prints are in the Festival’s possession.

ELIGIBILITY

Films must be Canadian productions Premieres and films completed within the last two years are preferred Accepting feature films (over 50 mins in length) and shorts (under 50 mins) of any genre

ENTRY FEES
- $15 for shorts and $25 for features
- Entry fees can be paid by cheque or money order made out to Canadian Filmmakers Festival
- Entry fees are non refundable.
- The entry fee covers administrative expenses related to cataloguing and previewing each entry.
- It’s safer not to send cash!
