ACTRA Awards in Toronto 2013 – nominees


ACTRA Toronto is delighted to announce the nominees for the 11th Annual ACTRA Awards in Toronto. The gala industry event will take place at The Carlu on Saturday, February 23, 2013.

Three juried ACTRA Awards will be presented for Outstanding Female Performance, Outstanding Male Performance and Outstanding Voice Performance.

"Public recognition of on-screen and on-mic talent adds enormous value to our industry. It's all about the actors at the ACTRA Awards in Toronto - the hottest industry party in town."

Shirley Douglas will be presented with ACTRA Toronto's 2013 Award of Excellence at the Awards celebration. The Award of Excellence recognizes an exceptional body of work and a commitment to advocacy on behalf of all performers.

The Awards show welcomes the return of comic Elvira Kurt as host and writer. Blues artist Shakura S'Aida will perform live music, followed by dancing with DJ FeelGoodSmalls.

ACTRA Toronto is the largest organization within ACTRA, representing over 15,000 of Canada's 22,000 professional performers working in the English-language recorded media in Canada. As an advocate for Canadian culture since 1943, ACTRA is a member-driven union that continues to secure rights and respect for the work of professional performers.
