aluCine annual Summer Party and Silent Auction

aluCine Toronto Latin Film + Media Arts Festival presents its annual Summer Party and First-ever Silent Auction

Toronto, ON…aluCine Toronto Latin Film + Media Arts Festival is pleased to announce its annual Summer Party and first-ever Silent Auction, a fundraising event with great prizes and entertainment. Proceeds will go towards the funding of this years festival. The event will take place Wednesday, August 17 starting at 8pm at Lula Lounge, 1585 Dundas St. West, Toronto. The cost is $10 at the door.

Warming up for the 12th edition of aluCine in November, the party will feature musical performances by Mulambo Groove, DJ’s El Man and Jose Antonio Matamoros Sanin from Dos Mundos Radio and surprise guest artists who will heat up the night with live drumming.

Mulambo Groove
brings the magic of Brazilian folklore onto the stage exploring old and modern sounds that merge into a mostly authentic and alive sound. Singer-song writer Peirson Ross described Mulambo Groove’s music as “the real thing”. Embracing the past of obscure musical traditions originated from Brazil's unique cultural breeding “hotspot” is the inspiration for Luciano Porto’s arrangements and original compositions. This results in music that is uniquely and excitingly new, yet at times ancient in sound. Crossing the Universal Spectrum of Latin Music, with a heavy lean towards dancefloor friendly sounds, Dos Mundos Radio is a journey through the freshest sounds from yesterday, today and tomorrow: Cumbia, Reggaeton, Mambo, Punk Latino, Reggae en Español, Boogaloo, Latin Hip-Hop, Salsa Dura, Rock Psicodelico y mucho mas!

For its first-ever Silent Auction, aluCine has partnered with donor organizations, businesses and artists such as Novo Spa, Sound Streams, Nightwood Theatre, Kula Yoga, Front Door Organics and The Walrus in order to bring attendees a wide variety of prizes for which they can bid in support for the festival’s 12th edition. We encourage everyone to bring cash and/or their chequebooks in order to bid and win great prizes.
