25th annual Genesis Awards - nominations


The Humane Society of the United States has announced the nominees for their 25th Annual Genesis Awards for "producing outstanding works that raise public awareness of animal issues." Two films were nominated in the feature film category. They were How to Train Your Dragon and The Switch.

The Elephant in the Living Room and Oceans received nominations in the Feature Documentary category.

Television shows that received nominations include The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, The Simpsons, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and True Blood.

Sex in the City star Kristin Davis will be honoured with the Wyler Award for garnering media attention about the plight of orphaned African elephants.

The 25th Genesis Awards will be Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles, CA.
