Call for submissions: CFC Cineplex Entertainment Film Program

The Canadian Film Centre (CFC) has just put out their call for submissions to the CFC Cineplex Entertainment Film Program.

This is their five-and-a-half month intensive training program for filmmakers to further develop their skills. The program runs in the second half of the year from July 9 to December 7, 2012. Each year they take up to five participants in each of the four disciplines of directing, producing, screenwriting and editing.

They have separate programs for television, documentary, new media and acting, as well as feature film programs.

The deadline for submissions to the CFC Cineplex Entertainment Film Program is January 23, 2012.

CINEPLEX ENTERTAINMENT FILM PROGRAM

The Cineplex Entertainment Film Program is a five-and-a-half month complete immersion in the art and business of dramatic filmmaking for directors, producers, writers and editors. Filmmakers develop their technical, collaborative and business skills, while developing project slates and refining their artistic expression in an intensely demanding, creative and professional environment. With a focus on entrepreneurial spirit, the program maintains a balance between the artistic and commercial aspects of the filmmaking industry, while nurturing originality and fostering creative risk-taking.

Each year, internationally recognized storytellers and industry professionals join us to inspire our filmmakers and lead hands-on workshops. In 2010, over 250 guests joined us in the five and a half months, including Edward Norton, William Goldman, Christine Vachon, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Donald Petrie, Paul Haggis, Rodney Charters, John Hamburg, Eugene Levy, Joe Medjuk, Charles Wessler, Francois Girard and many, many more.

See what our alumni and faculty have to say about their experiences in the Directors' Lab, Producers' Lab, Writers' Lab, and Editors' Lab.

“I MADE INCREDIBLE LASTING RELATIONSHIPS IN THE CFC EDITORS' LAB, WHILE BUILDING MY SKILLS AS A FEATURE EDITOR.”
