Karnataka State Film Awards 2012 – winners


Last night, a committee headed by senior director Sunil Kumar Desai and the Chief Minister of Karnataka presented the winners for the Karnataka State Film Awards for the best of 2013 in the Kannada film industry in Karnataka, India.

The top winners was Prasad by Manoj C Satti. In addition to taking First Best Film, it won for Best Actor (Arjun Sarja) and Best Child Artist (Master Sankalp). The winner for Second Best Film was Kurmavatara by Girish Kasaravalli. It also won for Best Story Writer (Ku Veerabadrappa) and Best Cinematographer.

The Third Best Film winner was Allide Nammane Illi Bande Summane by Gopi Peenya. It also was a three-time winner, also claiming Best Dialogue Writer (Gopi Peenya) and Best Editing.

Sarathi by Dinekar Toogudeepa was another triple-winner. It won Best Entertaining Movie, Best Art Director and a Special Jury Award for special effects.

Films which won two awards were Kamsale Kaisale, Sidlingu and Bhageerathi.

The Dr Rajkumar Award has been awarded to senior music director and lyricist Hamsalekha for his outstanding contribution to the world of music. Ananthnag won the Dr Vishnuvardhan Award for all-round achievement. D Rajendra Babu received the Puttanna Kanagal Award for his contribution as a director.
