2012 Constellation Awards - winners


Tonight at the Polaris 26 Science Fiction convention in Toronto, the ceremony for the 6th Annual Constellation Awards took place. The event was hosted by Sanctuary actor Robin Dunne who ended winning for Best Male Performance in a 2011 Science Fiction Television Episode ("Fugue").

The film winners were led by Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It won Best Science Fiction Film, TV Movie, or Mini-Series of 2011 while motion-capture actor Andy Serkis won for Best Male Performance.

Best Female Performance went to Olivia Wilde for her turn in Cowboys & Aliens.

Stargate Universe cleaned up on the television side. It won five awards including the top television prize of Best Science Fiction Television Series of 2011. It also won Best Female Performance (Ming-Na), Best Technical Accomplishment (Music by Joel Goldsmith), Best Script and Outstanding Canadian Contribution.

All nominees and winners were determined by public voting.
