American Cinema Editors announce 66th Annual ACE Eddie Awards – nominations


The American Cinema Editors have announced the nominees for the 66th Annual ACE Eddie Awards.

Winners will be announced at the 66th Annual ACE Eddie Awards presented by American Cinema Editors on January 29th, 2016. As previously announced, writer/director Nancy Meyers will receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award. In addition to that, Carol Littleton, ACE and Ted Rich, ACE, will receive Career Achievement Awards.

Final Ballots will be mailed on January 8 and voting ends on January 20. The Blue Ribbon screenings where judging for all television categories and the documentary film category take place January 17. Projects in the aforementioned categories are viewed and judged by committees comprised of professional editors (all ACE members). All 800+ ACE members vote during the final balloting of the ACE Eddies, including active members, life members, affiliate members and honorary members.

65th Annual ACE Eddie Awards – winners


American Cinema Editors (ACE) held a gala ceremony for their 65th Annual ACE Eddie Awards recognizing outstanding editing last night in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Serving as Master of Ceremonies was actress/comedian Mary Lynn Rajskub. Among the evening’s presenters were Matt Damon, Chris Pratt, Rene Russo, Allen Leech (Downton Abbey, The Imitation Game), Robin Leach, Nightcrawler director Dan Gilroy, Jeff Garlin and Amanda Fuller (Last Man Standing).

The winner for the Best Edited Feature Film in the Dramatic category was Sandra Adair for her work on Richard Linklater's Boyhood. Barney Pilling won for Best Edited Feature Film – Comedy or Musical for his cutting on Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel.

American Cinema Editors announce 65th Annual ACE Eddie Awards – nominations


American Cinema Editors (ACE) today announced nominations for the 65th Annual ACE Eddie Awards recognizing outstanding editing in ten categories of film, television and documentaries. Winners will be revealed during ACE’s annual black-tie awards ceremony on Friday, January 30, 2015 in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Next week ACE will announce the Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year honoree and two Career Achievement honorees.

For only the second time in the organization’s history, a tie resulted in an additional nominee in the Best Edited Feature Film (Dramatic) category creating six nominees, instead of five, indicating a tie in the number of votes for the fifth placing films. In 2013, a tie in the Best Edited Animated Feature Film resulted in four nominees, instead of the normal three nominees, in that category.
