Canadian Society of Cinematographers presents 57th annual CSC Awards – nominations

The Canadian Society of Cinematographers has announced the nominations for the 57th annual CSC Awards. The nominees for Theatrical Feature were the cinematographers for The Colony, Upside Down and Haunter. The cinematographer for both The Colony and Upside Down was Pierre Gill, who was also nominated in the TV Series category for Copper. Jon Joffin was the cinematographer for Haunter and was also nominated for the TV Drama Ring of Fire.

Other cinematographers with multiple nominations were Jon Castell, Allan Leader, Kirk Neff, Jeremy Benning, Benjamin Lichty and Daniel Grant.

The Canadian Society of Cinematographers has grown with the country's film and television industry, and continues to uphold the objectives for which the non-profit organization was founded in 1957. The purpose of the CSC is to promote the art and craft of cinematography and to provide tangible recognition of the common bonds that link film and video professionals, from the aspiring student and camera assistant to the news veteran and senior director of photography. CSC members are involved in the production of feature films, documentaries, television series, specials and commercials. Canadian directors of photography, who represent the nucleus of the membership, have achieved recognition as among the best in the world.

The 57th Annual CSC Awards will take place on 22 March 2014 at the Westin Harbour Castle, Conference Centre. The event will be hosted by film critic and television personality Richard Crouse.
