Call for submissions: The Fringe 100

The Toronto Fringe Festival has announced a call for submissions for its program The 100, a free immersive summer program for 100 emerging artists at the Toronto Fringe. The details are as follows:

The Fringe 100

If you join The 100 you will be given a free, all-access VIP pass to the Toronto Fringe Festival, as well as professional development, mentorship, arts immersion and networking opportunities. During our 12 day festival, you will be empowered to actively engage and interact with Fringe patrons, take workshops with leading industry professionals, learn tips & tricks from intimate artist-mentors and develop entrepreneurial skills under the guidance of Fringe staff and associates.

Workshops and Tent Talks: During the Festival we bring together industry professionals to lead workshops, tent talks and initiate social activations. Our goal is to provide you with practical tools and methods in order to gain a deeper understanding of the industry while learning from leaders in the community.

Mentorship: We connect you to artistic mentors who will offer guidance and advice while linking you to the inner-workings of the Festival and the artistic community.

All Access Fringe Pass: You’ll be given an all access pass to the Fringe Festival and encouraged to see as many shows as you can with your group. Staff and mentors will offer insider tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your Fringe experience.

Social Activations at the Fringe Club: The 100 will have a home-base in the middle of the action at Fringe Club. There, you’ll connect with audience and artists during our ‘100 activations’. These activations will encourage you to use the skills and tools that you’ve been given in workshops in new and innovative ways. Total immersion in everything Fringe!

Ideal participants are:
  1. Between the ages of 17 and 25
  2. Emerging artists who have a strong interest in producing, marketing, audience development, fundraising, networking and artistic development.
  3. Curious about engaging in theatre and the arts.
  4. Available during afternoons and evenings of the Festival (July 3-14th, 2013)
  5. Passionate about exploring the world of The Toronto Fringe!

*We encourage participants of all artistic backgrounds to apply; all levels of experience are welcome.
